How video marketing can help you
Video Marketing
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then how much more is a moving picture worth?
Video was exclusive and expensive. Big brands could afford it, and the only platforms being used were TV and cinema.
Not anymore.
Websites and social media platforms have paved the way for video sharing like never before.
1.73 billion people log onto Facebook every day to share images, videos and what they are having for dinner, and the relatively new TikTok has 800m active users, and is growing daily. TikTok is wholly video based.
So what can you do and what can we do to help that?
Get a video on your website landing page. If you don’t have one you should. A video can invoke a feeling much easier than words or pictures alone, and feelings influence customer buying habits, just look at Coca Cola advertising
This Chisel Wits video is intended to make you feel calm, happy, and trusting of Graham, the maker of the river table in the video.
Email marketing
It’s so much easier watching a video than reading, isn’t it?
A staggering statistic I read today states that video in an email leads to a 200-300% increase in click-through rate and it has a greater impact than just the written word.
Search engine optimisation
Back to those algorithms again, but a bit more too.
A video keeps your potential customers engaged and on your website longer than a simple image or text, and did you know that YouTube is the second largest search engine behind Google?
So a video on YouTube and your website increases your visibility significantly
Return of investment
What kind of payback will you get from a video?
87% of video marketers say video has increased traffic to their website and when you look at instructional or new product videos 95% of video marketers say video has helped increase understanding and video has also reduced the number of support calls received.
Add video to your marketing strategy
Unfortunately, you can’t just put out a video and hope that it becomes “viral”. You need to plan a strategy and keep at it.
There are lots of blogs and marketing agencies that can help with your strategy and I’ll not be covering it here however, I did want to talk about the algorithms briefly.
Algorithms on the social platforms analyse what you are posting and the frequency, and how your potential customers are interacting with it. Your strategy will help tick those algorithm boxes and keep your videos and information high on the click list.
The great thing about the data created for the algorithms is that you can analyse it yourself. For example on YouTube you can analyse down to where the user is, their age and gender.
Feedback is so vitally important in all marketing. You need to know what works, and what doesn’t. This data is available on most social platforms.
When 85% of businesses use video marketing as part of their marketing and promotion do you want to be left behind in the 15% that don’t?
